Unwrapping the Greatest Gift by Elisha Randee Vargas

It’s Christmas once again. Red, yellow, pink and blue lights are twinkling everywhere! Christmas carols fill the air with so much happiness. Ninangs (godmothers) and ninongs (godfathers) are busy buying gifts for their inaanaks (godchildren). But there is one gift that’s better than anything you can imagine! Hmmm…New car? Nope, better! New house? Nah, much, much, better! Trip to Paris? A cruise? 10,000,000 pesos? No, no, not even close! What’s this gift I’m talking about? It’s the wonderful gift of salvation!

Many of us think that Christmas is just about giving and receiving, forgiving, sharing and loving. Some even think that Christmas is a pain in the butt because they have to spend a lot of money buying gifts and food. Well, Christmas is more than that. It’s the day when our Savior was born! It’s Jesus Christ’s birthday! Aren’t you happy He was born? Without Him, we won’t get saved. “For the wages of SIN is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord”, as the Bible says. Jesus came here to save us. He didn’t come here to be served but to serve. He became poor for us. He made a way to close the gap (Isaiah 59:1,2) between the Father and us by dying in the cross. In Romans 10:9,10 it’s written, “If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.” The gift of salvation is free to everyone! We only have to trust and believe in Him.

This Christmas, learn to stop for a while and pray. Thank Him for coming into the world to save us. Be ready to accept Him as your Lord and Savior. Confess your sins and ask for forgiveness. He is just there ready to listen. No matter how big or how numerous the sins you’ve done, He is ready to forgive and to welcome you back. Just make sure that your heart is sincere and that you are willing to change.

There’s nothing else that can make Jesus happier than having you back and knowing that you are to surrender your life to Him, to spend your life according to His will. So c’mon, unwrap the gift of salvation! Merry Christmas, everyone! God bless!

~~~This is a composition she made last 2006. I chose this because it's for CHRISTMAS! Don't worry I asked for her permission. hehehe! Btw, Elisha is 16 years old. A very humble girl with dreams of a brighter future not only for her but for others, too. She has a heart for the poor. Hope you've been blessed by one of her compositions coz it truly blessed me. I could even ask her to make her own blog. hehehe! Let's make a petition. She reads my blog so she'll see it. If you want her to make her own blog, just comment about it. hehehe!
Make an impact. Make a difference. Make a ripple. Tip the scale.
GOD BLESS YOU ABUNDANTLY! GOD LOVES YOU ALWAYS!
