Reaping the Rewards of Labor in the Lord (September 21, 2008)

Preached by Pastora Rhoda

1 Corinthians 15:35-58
The Resurrection Body
35But someone may ask, "How are the dead raised? With what kind of body will they come?" 36How foolish! What you sow does not come to life unless it dies. 37When you sow, you do not plant the body that will be, but just a seed, perhaps of wheat or of something else. 38But God gives it a body as he has determined, and to each kind of seed he gives its own body. 39All flesh is not the same: Men have one kind of flesh, animals have another, birds another and fish another. 40There are also heavenly bodies and there are earthly bodies; but the splendor of the heavenly bodies is one kind, and the splendor of the earthly bodies is another. 41The sun has one kind of splendor, the moon another and the stars another; and star differs from star in splendor.

42So will it be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable; 43it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; 44it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body.
If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body. 45So it is written: "The first man Adam became a living being"[a]; the last Adam, a life-giving spirit. 46The spiritual did not come first, but the natural, and after that the spiritual. 47The first man was of the dust of the earth, the second man from heaven. 48As was the earthly man, so are those who are of the earth; and as is the man from heaven, so also are those who are of heaven. 49And just as we have borne the likeness of the earthly man, so shall we[b] bear the likeness of the man from heaven.

50I declare to you, brothers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. 51Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed— 52in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. 53For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality. 54When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: "Death has been swallowed up in victory."[c]
55"Where, O death, is your victory?
Where, O death, is your sting?"[d] 56The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. 57But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

58Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

How to Reap the Rewards

1. Stand Firm

Galatians 5:1
"
It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery."

Mark 13:13
"All men will hate you because of me, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved."

2. Be immovable or steady

Jeremiah 17:8
"He will be like a tree planted by the water
that sends out its roots by the stream.
It does not fear when heat comes;
its leaves are always green.
It has no worries in a year of drought
and never fails to bear fruit."

Ephesians 4:14
"Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming."

"A double minded man is unstable in all his doings."

3. Always abounding in the work of the Lord

Philippians 2:12
"Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling,"

4. Do not labor in vain

Hebrews 6:10
"God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them."

Wandering Spirit (September 18, 2008)

Preached by Pastor Windsor Cabrera

1 Timothy 5:13
"Besides, they get into the habit of being idle and going about from house to house. And not only do they become idlers, but also gossips and busybodies, saying things they ought not to."

Cain
~first wanderer in the Bible
~first vagabond (Genesis 4:12)
Deutoronomy 21:18-21
If a man has a stubborn and rebellious son who does not obey his father and mother and will not listen to them when they discipline him, his father and mother shall take hold of him and bring him to the elders at the gate of his town. They shall say to the elders, "This son of ours is stubborn and rebellious. He will not obey us. He is a profligate and a drunkard." Then all the men of his town shall stone him to death. You must purge the evil from among you. All Israel will hear of it and be afraid.

Satan
~very first wanderer

Psalm 109:10
"May his children be wandering beggars; may they be driven from their ruined homes."

Acts 19:13-16
Some Jews who went around driving out evil spirits tried to invoke the name of the Lord Jesus over those who were demon-possessed. They would say, "In the name of Jesus, whom Paul preaches, I command you to come out." Seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, were doing this. (One day) the evil spirit answered them, "Jesus I know, and I know about Paul, but who are you?" Then the man who had the evil spirit jumped on them and overpowered them all. He gave them such a beating that they ran out of the house naked and bleeding.

Job 1:6-7
One day the angels came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan also came with them. The LORD said to Satan, "Where have you come from?" Satan answered the LORD, "From roaming through the earth and going back and forth in it."

1 Peter 5:8
"Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour."

Luke 15:11-15
Jesus continued: "There was a man who had two sons. The younger one said to his father, 'Father, give me my share of the estate.' So he divided his property between them.

"Not long after that, the younger son got together all he had, set off for a distant country and there squandered his wealth in wild living. After he had spent everything, there was a severe famine in that whole country, and he began to be in need. So he went and hired himself out to a citizen of that country, who sent him to his fields to feed pigs.

3 Lessons from the Experience of the Prodigal Son

1.) a wanderer is always a sorrowful person

Philippians 4:4
"Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!"

2.) a wanderer's spirit causes demotion

*When you're not doing your calling, you are a wanderer.
*Wandering is not doing something but doing something that is not supposed to be done.

3.) a wanderer is always in a far country

*can be physically but more on mentally and spiritually

4.) vagabond people are always very selfish

*You can never replace GOD's calling, there is only one calling.

Matthew 24:12
"Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold,"

2 Timothy 3:1-4
"But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God—"

3 advice (D's)

1. Determination
Proverbs 22:6
"Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it."

2. Devotion
Revelation 2:10
"Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer. I tell you, the devil will put some of you in prison to test you, and you will suffer persecution for ten days. Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you the crown of life."

3. Direction
Psalm 37:23
"If the LORD delights in a man's way, He makes his steps firm;"

Single and Saved

What makes you think that just because I am an
Attractive woman of Godly intelligence
That I'm incomplete without a mate?
Who told you that without a man something’s missing
from my life? And if so, what would that be?

Love?
I love myself
And more importantly
I love the Lord
He told me that when I delight in Him,
He will give me the desires of my heart .

Security?
I have every thing I need according to His riches in glory .

Intimacy?
Now, how' s a man going to get to know me
When he doesn't even know who he is in the Lord
See my Father told me I'm above a ruby' s worth
And a gem does not seek; It is sought

I'm single and that's all right with me

See, it's not that I oppose relationships
It's that I detest co-dependency
As a woman, I know it is not my role
To chase after any man

Esther 2:14 reads
That I am to wait on my king and when he's delighted in me, He will call me by my name.

My Lord does not intend for me to be needy or desperate.
I am to be Cherished, Relished, Valued, and Honored,
It's not my job to convince him
Or Convict him of that,
My mate will already know it
And consistently show it
And he will stay on his knees daily
Not just to adore me
But to praise the Lord for
The virtuous woman he has found
So, when you see me by myself
I'm not alone
I know what I have coming to me

I'm single and saved, and right now that's all I need to be!

An email sent to me by Heather Armstrong. I am still single but taken. I admire the confidence in this composition. Such a good revelation from GOD. To all the single ladies out there, may this be your inspiration and your prayer. You are GOD's princess. Our GOD is more than enough for us.

This is an inspiration to me as I know my man has the qualities I desire. He is definitely my gift from GOD who is after GOD's own heart. He does not need to be named David to be said that he is after GOD's own heart. He is my Cody. He is GOD's Cody. He is GOD's prince. Isolated from the familiarity of the world. He is unique and different.

A message for everyone

An email sent to me by one of my blessed girl friends:

This message may find you at a time of great peace and happiness. You may be feeling on top of the world, blessed and prosperous. There may be a smile on your face and a spring in your step. Everything is going your way; or not. You may, at this time, be in the midst of a storm. You might be in pain or even suffering. Perhaps you are facing a challenge in a relationship or marriage. You may be experiencing sadness or sorrow due to a recent financial loss or loss of a friendship.

No matter where you are on life's journey, or what you may be experiencing, you can take comfort in knowing that you are exactly where God wants you to be. Both the good and the bad situations weave together the fabric of your life. It takes both the rain and the sunshine to create a rainbow. The times of your life, both the times of joy and the times of sorrow, are responsible for making you into the person that you are. Without the variety of seasons in your life, you would not develop into the person God desires you to be. Now that may be difficult to understand or to accept, but it is the truth. Whether you are in a time of celebration or a time of darkness, you are where you are for a reason. Praise God no matter the time! He is in control and is providing the ingredients necessary for you to have the perfect outcome and blessing.
Do you need something to provide you more comfort than that?

There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven.
Ecclesiastes 3:1

God bless my friends!!!

The Heart of True Worship

How do you know if you're worshipping GOD the right way?

As what my post title simply conveys, "The Heart of True Worship" means true worship can be found in the heart.

Your mouth might confess that you love GOD but do you really?

Let us talk about true worship. Have you examined yourself and asked yourself whether you are giving GOD true worship?

If used as an adjective, worship means excellence of character; dignity; worth; worthiness; honor; respect; obsequious or submissive respect; extravagant admiration; adoration.

GOD has revealed something to me months ago while I was singing praise and worship. The song line-up differ every Sunday. The worship team use alternate languages. For example, for this Sunday, English songs were used. Next Sunday, they'll be singing Filipino worship songs. And because I was brought up with English movies/shows, English books, English music as my mom is an English teacher so it was difficult for me to adapt to Filipino songs. Some of the Filipino worship songs were older than me. I do not know their lyrics and tunes. But then whenever the worship team had a Filipino line-up, there was a side of me that was disappointed. Amazingly, GOD revealed to me while I was praying, eyes closed while everyone around me was singing, that true worship doesn't have to depend upon the songs. What's important is the pure heart. So when I've memorized the lyrics while they were singing, I sang with everyone with a heart filled with awe of GOD. Second, sometimes the worship leader do not sing very well or doesn't sing in tune with the songs or sometimes makes mistakes that are very obvious. GOD makes me close my eyes while singing worship songs in one reason: to be able to focus on HIM and not on everyone else who surrounds me. True worship doesn't depend upon the songs leaders. We have different song leaders every week, by the way. hehehe! Third, sometimes we come to HIM with self-pity, feeling dirty and sinful. Before, I would feel that I do not deserve to sing worship songs because I have sinned a lot. That is not true worship. As what worship means worthiness. We give worship to GOD because HE is worthy of all our praise and worship, not because we are unworthy to give praise. True worship doesn't depend upon our unworthiness but our GOD deserves all the utmost praise and worship even to our lowliest state in life. The devil tries to steal our worship to GOD through our minds. Our mind is the battleground. If you do not control it and take hold of it, the devil will. The brain is connected to the heart so whatever our minds think, the hearts feel.

As what worship means when it is used as a noun: the act of paying divine honors to the Supreme Being; religious reverence and homage; adoration, or acts of reverence, paid to God. And as a verb: to respect; to honor; to treat with civil reverence; to pay divine honors to; to reverence with supreme respect and veneration; to perform religious exercises in honor of; to adore; to venerate; to honor with extravagant love and extreme submission, as a lover; to adore; to idolize.

As we can see, it is centered on a certain being whom we are giving worship to. For us, Christians, our focus is on GOD. Not on anyone or ourselves. As what a certain song states, "I will worship you for who YOU are." I certainly love this song!

I want to thank Cody (my honey) because GOD used him as a confirmation to tackle on this topic. I wasn't asking for any confirmation but GOD gave me 2 confirmations. Cody shared a sermon given by their preacher from one of their Sundays. It was about true worship. He shared that true worship is about what is inside your heart. Not about the song, song leader or even the preacher. Second confirmation was the service earlier, Pastor Eric Noche preached that true worship is not about being prejudice. We, Christians, should intercede rather than criticize (a revelation given to me about discernment). We, Christians, should only utter blessings not curses. And do not do what is not your calling or what GOD is not asking you to do. Pastor Eric reiterated on the story of Martha and Mary. Martha opened the door for JESUS but JESUS did not ask her to do anything for HIM but she still made herself busy. On the contrary, JESUS sat down with Mary who listened to HIM with all ears. A very nice revelation.

True worship is not just about talking but also listening to what GOD desires for you. Sometimes, our mind is busy thinking and battling with GOD and the other voices we can hear that we sometimes miss what the still, small voice is whispering to us. You will recognize the still, small voice when there is peace and joy. As what James 1:17 states, "Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows." You will know HIS voice if you know HIS Word, if you read and meditate on HIS Word daily. HIS Word states everything that HE desires. Commands to obey. Partial obedience is still disobedience. Full obedience follows blessings and rewards. Though we should not be after the rewards. We should be after GOD's own heart. The heart of true worship focuses on GOD alone.

These are 2 songs that focus on GOD not on ourselves or what we are right now, what we have or what we can be but on who our GOD is.

The first one was revealed to me earlier. The other one is one of my favorite songs.

Lyrics:

How many roads did I travel
Before I walked down one that led me to You?
How many dream did unravel
Before I believed in a hope that was true?
How long? How far?
What was meant to fulfill only emptied me still
And all You ever wanted…

Only me on my knees
Singing holy, holy
And somehow
All that matters now is
You are holy, holy

How many deaths did I die
Before I was awakened to new life again?
How many half truths did bear witness to
‘Til the proof was disproved in the end?
How long? How far?
What was meant to illuminate shadowed me still

And all You ever wanted…
All I have is gratitude to offer You

Lyrics:

Standing here in Your presence
Thinking of the good things You have done
Waiting here patiently
Just to hear Your still small voice again

Holy, righteous, faithful to the end,
Saviour, Healer, Redeemer, and Friend

I will worship You for who You are
I will worship You for who You are
I will worship You for who You are
Jesus

My soul secure, Your promise sure
Your love endures always

True worship comes from the heart. A heart that only beats for our FATHER in heaven.

WORSHIP GOD ALONE WITH ALL OF YOU! GOD BE WITH YOU! GOD BLESS YOU ABUNDANTLY!

Adonai

ADONAI BY AVALON

Lyrics:

One single drop of rain
Your salty tear became blue ocean
One tiny grain of sand turning in your hand
A world in motion
You're out beyond the furthest Morning Star
Close enough to hold me in Your arms
Adonai, I lift up my heart and I cry
My Adonai
You're Maker of each moment
Father of my hope and freedom
Oh, my Adonai
One timid faithful knock
Resounds upon the Rock of Ages
One trembling heart and soul
Becomes a servant bold and courageous
You call across the mountains and the seas
I answer from the deepest part of me
Adonai, I lift up my heart and I cry
My Adonai
You are Maker of each moment
Father of my hope and freedom
Oh, my Adonai
Oh, From age to age you reign in Majesty
And today You're making miracles in me
Adonai! I lift up my heart and I cry
My Adonai You are Maker of each moment
Father of my hope and freedom
Oh, my Adonai

~~~Insight~~~
This is such a beautiful song about our Maker. The beautiful things He amazingly created. It is a revelation to me that our GOD can do the most impossible things. If HE can create the world and everything we see in it, then HE can do impossible things you've never imagined HE can do. ONLY BELIEVE. Sometimes it is in doubt that HE proves HIS power but its also because HIS amazing grace is sufficient to fill in those doubts. I want to dedicate this song to ate Leigh. ONLY BELIEVE (I got this from Mr. Smith Wigglesworth, a mighty warrior of GOD). GOD can do miracles. In HIS Will in HIS perfect timing. Our GOD who parted the Red Sea. Our GOD who created the heavens and the earth. What else can HE not do?
ADONAI BY HILLSONG
Lyrics:
I lift my voice
I lift my praise to You
I lift my hands
I lift my worship to You
And I love You more than I can say
Oh I love You more than I can say
Ever I will sing only You will I adore
Glorify my Lord only You will I serve
For the world will fade away
Still my song to You remains
Only You will I adore
Oh I love You always
Oh I love You always
~~~Insight~~~

I have listened to this song for more than 10 times in just one night. hahaha! I love this song! The world will fade away but our love and faith still remains. Our true worship to our True GOD will always remain. When we get to heaven, the only thing that we're going to do is to worship HIM and love HIM more than we can say. LOVE GOD ABOVE ALL!

I am celebrating my life today. September is my first year anniversary birthday hahaha! Thank You, my LORD and my FATHER for giving me a chance to live my life for YOU!

4 Ways to Know GOD's Will

There are 4 ways to know GOD's Will in your life which was shared to me by our youth pastor.

1.) When there is peace.

2.) When there is growth.

3.) When there is back-up from family and church.

4.) When there is a specific Word from GOD.

However, these are only used as a guide. We should not depend alone on such things. We cannot foresee GOD's plan in our lives. It is still better to rely on HIS Will rather than our will. Sometimes, we proclaim that our will is GOD's Will for us. We want to see it that way because we want it our way. Sometimes, we say it is GOD's Will for us because we're happy with it and it is what we really desire but always, I mean always consider GOD's Will to be done in your life.

I've read a love story in a book from a Christian author. His lovelife was indeed an inspiration in my life. He had to struggle in prayer for his 'desire.' His heart's desire was already taken. She already had a boyfriend when they met. He stated his funny prayer in the book. He said something like, "oh Lord you know that she should be with me and not with that guy. Please make her mine." But I was amazed with the last line that goes, "But, Father, let Your Will be done." Amazingly, GOD answered his prayer. The woman who was working with her former boyfriend was transferred to the Christian guy's office and she finally broke up with her boyfriend and married the prayer warrior. hehehe! GOD will make a way if it is HIS Will.

We ask for something we desire but in every prayer, we should desire what our Father wants for us. As what is written...

Isaiah 55:8-9
8 "For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways My ways,"
declares the LORD.

9 "As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are My ways higher than your ways
and My thoughts than your thoughts.

We do not know what our future holds so we have no right to boast about it.

Proverbs 27:1
"Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring forth."

James 4:13-17
Boasting About Tomorrow
Now listen, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money." Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, "If it is the Lord's will, we will live and do this or that." As it is, you boast and brag. All such boasting is evil. Anyone, then, who knows the good he ought to do and doesn't do it, sins.

Make an impact. Make a difference. Make a ripple. Tip the scale.

MAY GOD GIVE YOU WISDOM AND DISCERNMENT THAT ARE FROM A PURE HEART. A PURE HEART THAT ONLY LONGS FOR GOD'S WILL. GOD BE WITH YOU! GOD BLESS YOU ABUNDANTLY!

GOD's Grace

In our generation today, pride, self-righteousness and hypocrisy are the enemies in the spiritual realm.

John 1:16
"From the fullness of His grace we have all received one blessing after another."

Definitions of Grace:
a. A disposition to be generous or helpful; goodwill.
b. Mercy; clemency.
c. Divine love and protection bestowed freely on people.
d. The state of being protected or sanctified by the favor of God.
e. An excellence or power granted by God.
f. a reprieve meaning...
1. a postponement or cancellation of a punishment
2. a warrant granting a postponement or cancellation
3. a temporary relief from pain or harm

But GOD's grace is not temporary. It is permanent. Believe it or not, you are always under GOD's grace.

Seven Main Points to know that you are experiencing GOD's grace

1.) Humility
John 3:30
"He must become greater; I must become less."

It is by true grace that you gain true humility. Only GOD's grace can change a life.

James 4:10 (NIV)
"Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will lift you up."

But I love the translation of the TLB (The Living Bible) version...

James 4:10 (TLB)
"...When you realize your worthlessness before the LORD, HE will lift you up, encourage and help you."

It is when you realize that you are nothing before GOD that you experience and embrace GOD's grace. You begin to realize that GOD is everything and you are nothing without HIM. That you can only be something because of HIS undying grace. But even if you are something because of GOD, you glorify GOD above all.

"Humility doesn't mean you think less of yourself but that you think of yourself less." ~Max Lucado
A text message sent to me by my ninang Leja Good.

Ephesians 2:8-9
"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast."

GOD's grace assures humility. You will learn that when grace is given to you, you won't have room for arrogance.

Romans 11:6
"And if by grace, then it is no longer by works; if it were, grace would no longer be grace."

Galatians 3:3
"Are you so foolish? After beginning with the Spirit, are you now trying to attain your goal by human effort?"

Nothing that you do is good enough for GOD but because of HIS endless grace, HE always accepts everything you do especially when done for HIM.

"You will never be obedient enough to merit HIS favor." ~Ben Young and Dr. Samuel Adams

"GOD never intended for you to relate to HIM on the basis of your good day-bad day performance. Your performance is never good enough to be acceptable to HIM." ~Ben Young and Dr. Samuel Adams

"Your worst days are never so bad that you are beyond the reach of GOD's grace. And your best days are never so good that you are beyond the need of GOD's grace." ~Jerry Bridges (The Discipline of Grace)

2.) Acknowledgement of Sins
Romans 6:14
"For sin shall not be your master, because you are not under law, but under grace."

You experience GOD's grace when you admit your sins, confess them and turn away from them.

Romans 3:22-23
"This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,"

We should never abuse GOD's grace because JESUS paid the price.

"If life is the most costly gift one could give ever give.. I wouldn't mind paying the price.. Just to make you mine.." ~JESUS CHRIST
A text message sent by Glen Ramos.

Romans 6:1-2
Dead to Sin, Alive in Christ
"What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer?"

"And until we know the seriousness of our diagnosis, it is impossible to appreciate the cure. Unless we are willing to admit that we are sick, guilty, and separated from GOD, we will never experience the power of GOD's miraculous cure - grace." ~Ben Young

3.) Acknowledgement of our Savior JESUS CHRIST
Titus 2:11-12
"For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. It teaches us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age,"

2 Corinthians 12:9
But He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.

Galatians 2:20-21
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!"

If we can be righteous because of the good deeds we do, because of the obedience in GOD's Commandments then GOD's grace is useless and so is CHRIST's sacrifice for us.

2 Peter 3:18
"But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen."

GOD's grace is for everyone. Not only for unbelievers but also for believers. And we grow in GOD's grace through what JESUS CHRIST our Savior has done for us.

Romans 5:17-21
17
For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God's abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ.

18Consequently, just as the result of one trespass was condemnation for all men, so also the result of one act of righteousness was justification that brings life for all men. 19For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.

20The law was added so that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased, grace increased all the more, 21so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

We get to go to heaven because of what JESUS CHRIST did for us. That is why they call it "Amazing Grace."

Romans 6:1-2

Dead to Sin, Alive in Christ
"What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer?"

Romans 8:1
"Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,"

4.) Faith that of a Little Child

*innocence from sin like that of a little child
*wisdom from GOD that is pure

Luke 18:16-17
But Jesus called the children to Him and said, "Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it."

Ephesians 2:8
"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—"

A text story sent to me by Pastora Girlie:
A doctor was fond of letting the kids listen to the beat of their hearts during check-ups. She loved seeing their young faces light up when they hear the thump of their own hearts. But one question from a little boy touched her the most. He asked, "Is that JESUS knocking?"

5.) Blessings
John 1:16
"From the fullness of His grace we have all received one blessing after another."

Ephesians 2:7
"in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus."

Psalm 21:3
"You welcomed him with rich blessings and placed a crown of pure gold on his head."

Proverbs 10:6
"Blessings crown the head of the righteous, but violence overwhelms the mouth of the wicked."

Romans 15:29
"I know that when I come to you, I will come in the full measure of the blessing of Christ."

Galatians 3:14
"He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit."

Ephesians 1:3
"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ."

1 Peter 3:9
"Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult, but with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing."

When we receive HIS grace, it is then that we are blessed spiritually and that we start blessing others, too. Not just by actions but also with prayers. All kinds of blessings will overflow after every trial. Double portion of blessings.

6.) Thankfulness
Colossians 4:2
"Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful."

Colossians 2:6-7
"So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness."

Colossians 3:15
"Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful."

Philippians 4:6
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God."

It is when you begin to be thankful for everything (blessings and trials) that you appreciate GOD's grace.

7.) Intercession
Isaiah 53:12
"Therefore I will give Him a portion among the great, and He will divide the spoils with the strong, because He poured out His life unto death, and was numbered with the transgressors. For He bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors."

Just like JESUS CHRIST, we should intercede for others, too, as HE Himself intercedes for us.

1 Timothy 2:1-4
"I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth."

1 Timothy 2:8
"I want men everywhere to lift up holy hands in prayer, without anger or disputing."

When we receive GOD's grace and experience it everyday and appreciate it every minute, we learn not only to pray but also to intercede for others. Intercession is a humble act of love.

8.) Joy in Living
Psalm 5:11
"But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you."

Psalm 16:11
"You have made known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand."

Psalm 19:8
"The precepts of the LORD are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the LORD are radiant, giving light to the eyes."

Psalm 21:6
"Surely you have granted him eternal blessings and made him glad with the joy of your presence."

Psalm 28:7
"The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song."

Psalm 45:7
"You love righteousness and hate wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy."

Psalm 68:3
"But may the righteous be glad and rejoice before God; may they be happy and joyful."

Psalm 90:14
"Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days."

John 16:20
"I tell you the truth, you will weep and mourn while the world rejoices. You will grieve, but your grief will turn to joy."

John 16:24
"Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete."

Acts 2:28
"You have made known to me the paths of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence."

Acts 14:17
"Yet He has not left himself without testimony: He has shown kindness by giving you rain from heaven and crops in their seasons; He provides you with plenty of food and fills your hearts with joy."

Romans 5:1-2
"Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God."

Romans 12:12
"Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer."

Romans 14:17-18
"For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit, because anyone who serves Christ in this way is pleasing to God and approved by men."

Romans 15:13
"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit."

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
"Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."

After receiving GOD's grace, we begin to live with so much joy even if we undergo trials for we know the reward we have in heaven. The reward of eternal life with our Beautiful Father. We focus on our goal and that is to end the good race with GOD's grace.

Our GOD's grace is always available for you. Do not hesitate to ask for it.

Make an impact. Make a difference. Make a ripple. Tip the scale.

Genuine Repentance (September 14, 2008)

Preached by Pastor Windsor Cabrera

Acts 2:38
Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Acts 3:19
"Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord,"

Not all repentance is genuine.

Definitions of Repentance
a.) be sorry: to recognize the wrong in something you have done and be sorry about it
b.) change ways: to feel regret about a sin or past actions and change your ways or habits
c.) from the Greek word "metanoia" = change of mind
d.) repentance begins in CHRIST and should become a lifestyle

Seven Ingredients of a Genuine Repentance

1.) Conviction of the Holy Spirit
Hebrews 4:12
"For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart."

a.) conviction of the Holy Spirit upon hearing the Word of GOD
b.) example: people at the preaching of Peter
Acts 2:37
When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, "Brothers, what shall we do?"

When GOD speaks to you, you have to do something.

2.) Acknowledgement of Sin
Psalm 32:5
Then I acknowledged my sin to you
and did not cover up my iniquity.
I said, "I will confess
my transgressions to the LORD "—
and you forgave
the guilt of my sin.
Selah

a.) taking full responsibility of sin, blaming no one but self
b.) example: David
Psalm 51:3
"For I know my transgressions, and my sin is always before me."

3.) Be sorry
Psalm 6:6
"I am worn out from groaning; all night long I flood my bed with weeping and drench my couch with tears."

a.) expressing Godly sorrow
b.) Psalm 38:18
"I confess my iniquity; I am troubled by my sin."

Godly sorrow worketh repentance.

4.) Confession
Psalm 38:18
"I confess my iniquity; I am troubled by my sin."

a.) confession of sin = admission of wrong to GOD and to man

True repentance is by going to the person personally.

5.) Hate and Forsake Sin
2 Chronicles 7:14
"if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land."

a.) hatred toward sin and total change of direction
Isaiah 55:7
"Let the wicked forsake his way
and the evil man his thoughts.
Let him turn to the LORD, and he will have mercy on him,
and to our God, for he will freely pardon."

b.) examples:
i. the prodigal son left the pig pen
ii. Joseph ran away from Potiphar's wife

Divine hatred towards sin. Treat sin like manure. Be disgusted with sin. Don't be like a dog that is tied that goes back to its manure.

6.) Make Restitution
Luke 19:8
But Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord, "Look, Lord! Here and now I give half of my possessions to the poor, and if I have cheated anybody out of anything, I will pay back four times the amount."

a.) Make everything right. Give back what is taken.

No more remedies. Confess.

7.) Ask GOD for a Clean Heart
Psalm 51:10
"Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me."

a.) desire for a pure heart
b.) Peter's repentance vs. Judas' repentance
Peter
Luke 22:16
3x denial = 3x questioning of love

Judas - remorse repentance; he took the matters into his own hand

Give people the freedom to commit mistakes and learn from those mistakes.

Make an impact. Make a difference. Make a ripple. Tip the scale.

If you committed a mistake to someone today, go to that person and ask for forgiveness blaming no one. Whether the person forgives you or not, surrender the matter to GOD and HE will give you HIS amazing grace. HE will take care of the rest.

A Pathway to Holiness (September 4, 2008)

Preached by Brother Benjo

1 Peter 1:13-21
Be Holy
13Therefore, prepare your minds for action; be self-controlled; set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is revealed. 14As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. 15But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; 16for it is written: "Be holy, because I am holy."

17Since you call on a Father who judges each man's work impartially, live your lives as strangers here in reverent fear. 18For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers, 19but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. 20He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake. 21Through him you believe in God, who raised him from the dead and glorified him, and so your faith and hope are in God.

Easton's Bible Dictionary
In the highest sense belongs to God (Isaiah 6:3; Revelation 15:4), and to Christians as consecrated to God's service, and in so far as they are conformed in all things to the will of God (Romans 6:19, 22; Ephesians 1:4; Titus 1:8; 1 Peter 1:15). Personal holiness is a work of gradual development. It is carried on under many hindrances, hence the frequent admonitions to watchfulness, prayer, and perseverance (1 Corinthians 1:30; 2 Corinthians 7:1; Ephesians 4:23, 24). (see SANCTIFICATION.)

Noah Webster's New International Dictionary of the English Language
1. (n.) The state or quality of being holy; perfect moral integrity or purity; freedom from sin; sanctity; innocence.

2. (n.) The state of being hallowed, or consecrated to God or to his worship; sacredness.

Anticipation of the coming of CHRIST

The mind is the battleground.

1.) Look forward for His coming
Ephesians 6:14
"Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place,"

1 Thessalonians 5:6
"So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be alert and self-controlled."

2 Timothy 4:5
"But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry."

1 Peter 4:7
"The end of all things is near. Therefore be clear minded and self-controlled so that you can pray."

1 Peter 5:8
"Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour."

2.) Obedience in Faith
Ephesians 4:18
"They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts."

1 Peter 1:2
"who have been chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through the sanctifying work of the Spirit, for obedience to Jesus Christ and sprinkling by his blood: Grace and peace be yours in abundance."

1 Peter 4:2
"As a result, he does not live the rest of his earthly life for evil human desires, but rather for the will of God."

Colossians 3:23
"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men,"

We are raising up the standards of our work because we are serving our GOD.

3.) GOD commands
Leviticus 11:44
"I am the LORD your God; consecrate yourselves and be holy, because I am holy. Do not make yourselves unclean by any creature that moves about on the ground."

Leviticus 19:2
"Speak to the entire assembly of Israel and say to them: 'Be holy because I, the LORD your God, am holy.

Leviticus 20:7
" 'Consecrate yourselves and be holy, because I am the LORD your God.

4.) Redeemed by the Precious Blood of JESUS CHRIST
1 Corinthians 6:20
"you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body."

Ephesians 4:17
"So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking."

Titus 2:14
"who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good."

Hebrews 9:12
"He did not enter by means of the blood of goats and calves; but he entered the Most Holy Place once for all by his own blood, having obtained eternal redemption."

Believers are dead to sin, alive to GOD.

Romans 6:19
"I put this in human terms because you are weak in your natural selves. Just as you used to offer the parts of your body in slavery to impurity and to ever-increasing wickedness, so now offer them in slavery to righteousness leading to holiness."

Lost but Found - Stolen but Redeemed - Tested but Blessed

I believe that I was lost in the darkness but now I am found and running the good race of faith in the Light. No regrets.

Luke 15:24
"For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found. So they began to celebrate."

Psalm 73:2
"But as for me, my feet had almost slipped; I had nearly lost my foothold."

Psalm 119:176
"I have strayed like a lost sheep. Seek Your servant, for I have not forgotten Your commands."

Matthew 18:14
"In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should be lost."

I was stolen from the Light but wonderfully redeemed by the Light.

Exodus 15:13
"In Your unfailing love You will lead the people You have redeemed. In Your strength You will guide them to Your holy dwelling."

Psalm 34:22
"The LORD redeems His servants; no one will be condemned who takes refuge in Him."

Psalm 49:15
"But God will redeem my life from the grave; He will surely take me to Himself."

Titus 2:12-14
It teaches us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope—the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for Himself a people that are His very own, eager to do what is good.

I was and still am tested always but very much blessed. Rather blessed than tested.

Psalm 17:3
Though you probe my heart and examine me at night, though you test me, you will find nothing; I have resolved that my mouth will not sin.

Psalm 26:2-3
2 Test me, O LORD, and try me,
examine my heart and my mind;

3 for Your love is ever before me,
and I walk continually in Your truth.

Psalm 66:10
"For You, O God, tested us; You refined us like silver."

Psalm 139:23
"Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts."

Proverbs 17:3
"The crucible for silver and the furnace for gold, but the LORD tests the heart."

All of these things I appreciate the most in my life because I won't be what I am now if not for my past. I won't experience GOD's amazing grace if not for my past. My past that carries hurts, mistakes, shame, guilt and sins.

Testimony:
Last Tuesday, my silver purse was stolen. Inside, it has my umbrella, my mom's Bible that I use everyday, money and vitamins, coin purse, passport and ID. The weirdest thing is that the woman smiled at me before she left (with my bag hehehe). I still am thankful though because I didn't curse her in any way with my words by GOD's grace, instead, I found myself blessing her with prayers. I just prayed that the Bible would minister to her. I truly know that GOD has a purpose why my bag was stolen. It is my first time to have something stolen from me. Complete package for her. hehehe! I have learned the value of GOD's grace in this incident. In fact, we had an assignment in Preaching Class about making our own topical sermon and I chose GOD's grace. My bag may be lost but my attitude has grown eversince GOD has found me back through GOD's grace. My bag may be stolen but I still believe that I can redeem everything and even so much more as I believe so through GOD's grace. I was tested so much this week. Not only with my stolen beloved possessions but also with my parents. Through GOD's grace, I have learned so many things and GOD worked in me. HE blessed me with a double portion of what HE gave me before. HE has blessed me with a super boyfriend who never left me when I needed him most. GOD is ever faithful even if we aren't. Please help me pray for the woman's salvation and sanctification. Thank you.

2 weeks!

Oh my I am so deeply excited! 2 weeks and Cody will be here soon. How soon is that? GOD is so good! Everything good is unfolding right infront of my eyes. Our new favorite verse...

James 1:17
Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.

Also, one of the most amazing revelations I've ever had in this relationship is that whatever you do, wherever you are, you are GOD's representative. Exude HIS glory always!

Real Friendships

September 14, 2008
10:23pm

I am so thankful for the real friendships I have. For my real close friends who celebrate with me whenever I am happy and those who try to comfort me when I am sad.

I am so grateful for my youths who continue to shower me with love and blessings. It was unexpected. Before we had our cell meeting at our house last Friday, 3 young beautiful, promising young girls, who are devoted to GOD’s ministry and called to serve, gave me a graduation gift. I wasn’t really expecting it. Each one of them gave me beautiful cards. One is very unique which is like a map hahaha! The other one is funny since she stated that I should forget her not but she didn’t write her name hahaha! It was the card though that obviously was given so much effort. The third one is one of my favorite cards in National Bookstore. Amazing coz I’ve been looking for those kinds of cards but couldn’t find them anymore and I’ve only been giving those to others. When I saw it, I was truly touched by her and moved by GOD’s goodness. These girls know the power in blessing their leaders. Whatever blessing you give, GOD gives you the ones you truly desire. Bless others with what you have. I was surprised to know that I have an impact on their lives. I never expected I could be a role model and that I could encourage young people to grow more in GOD.

Also, these girls know how to appreciate simple, little gifts. For them, the trust you give them is very essential. Just like sharing little secrets. Giving them ‘pastillas’ would really make them gleeful. hahaha!

I am also amazed at the excitement they share with me knowing that my Cody will soon be here. They are excited to meet you, honey. hahaha! Very much so they won’t be able to talk. hahaha!

They are one of my rewards in this ministry. They are like my younger sisters and children in the spirit at the same time. The hunger they have for GOD is amazing. I just declare humility, spiritual breakthrough and more of GOD’s blessings, wisdom, discernment and anointing upon them.

Elisha, Deena and Justine: GOD wants to bless and anoint you more. HE wants to give you more than the desires of your hearts. Only focus on GOD. Always make GOD your top priority and HE will make you HIS priority, too. I am so excited to see you sharing GOD’s Word to the next generation, too and when that time comes, please know that I am the first person who will celebrate the boldness given to you by our amazing Father and know that I am the first person to applaud. Seeing you guys succeed in your spiritual life is one of my ultimate goals. I admire your loyalty and perseverance to our cell meetings. You are promising ministers of GOD. Continue on serving GOD. I love all of you. Pantay pantay. hahaha!

I love seeing people grow in GOD’s love, grace and favor. Won’t you grow with us, too?

3pm

Simple testimony:
I am just truly blessed. I don’t know what I did to deserve all the things I have but all I know is that GOD isn’t selfish. When HE gives, HE gives abundantly. HE knows what’s best. Of course, Cody and I’s relationship isn’t perfect. But then, GOD has taught me patience with Cody. I’ve never been patient before. I’ve been constantly asking Cody the past few days if he has booked his flight already. But I stopped. I decided to be patient and wait for GOD’s Perfect Timing. This morning, Cody informed me that he got me something. A surprise. I was wondering through our worship service til I came home. He said he’ll give me a hint before he sleeps. I had 3 things in mind. One was the flight. But then, the statement was, ‘I got you something.’ So I was thinking it might be a Bible, too. A study Bible. hahaha! 3pm, before he slept, his hint was “Economy Class (K)” and tears came running down my cheeks unstoppably. The thought of him actually visiting me is so overwhelming and what made it more overwhelming is that he is the only gift I want for my birthday. I’ve informed him that before and he certainly gave it to me. What made it most overwhelming is that I am finally going to see my true love…my most beautiful blessing from GOD! I am so thrilled, nervous and excited all at the same time. I couldn’t stop smiling and crying. It was worth the wait. It was worth the patience.
