Do Not Lose Heart

Preached by Pastor Windsor Cabrera

2 Corinthians 4:1
"Therefore, since through God's mercy we have this ministry, we do not lose heart."

2 Corinthians 4:8-9
"We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; 9persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed."

2 Corinthians 4:16
"Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day."

Galatians 6:9
"Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up."

"The longer I serve Him, the sweeter He grows."

I. Signs of Losing Heart
1.) lack of persistence
Luke 18:1
"Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up."

Joke: "If you are not patient, you will become a patient."

Ephesians 6:18
"And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints."

1 Corinthians 4:2
"Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful."

1 Thessalonians 5:17
"pray continually"

1 Timothy 2:8
"I want men everywhere to lift up holy hands in prayer, without anger or disputing."
3 symbols of raising hands
1.) surrender
2.) victory
3.) worship

2.) grow weary in doing good
Galatians 6:9
"Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up."

II. Reasons for Lost Hearts
1.) trials/tribulations
3 P's in the Christian Life
Problem - look to God
Promise - talk to God
Provision - trust and wait on God

2.) lawlessness
-no direction

trial - allowed by God to make us strong
temptation - from Satan to make us weak

"Unless the heart is right, the price is right."

AVOID LOSING HEART
1.) Appreciate the glorious nature of our ministry
2.) Realize the power of Christ when we are weak
2 Chronicles 16:9
"For the eyes of the LORD range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him. You have done a foolish thing, and from now on you will be at war."

2 Corinthians 12:9
But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.

3.) Look at things not seen

"What a day it will be, when my Jesus I shall see."

John 14:1
"Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me."

Galatians 6:7-9
"Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up."

Make an impact. Make a difference. Make a ripple. Tip the scale.
